Alan H. Fleischmann

Alan H. Fleischmann is Senior Vice President of Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates.

Alan is a specialist in strategic and crisis communications.  Mr. Fleischmann oversees the work for a variety of top corporate and international clients at Penn, Schoen and Berland Associates. 

Alan Fleischmann is a co-founder, board member, and managing director of the ImagineNations™ Group, a global alliance promoting youth investment funds in the developing world. Fleischmann served two terms as the chief of staff to Maryland Lt. Governor Kathleen Kennedy Townsend. Previously, Alan Fleischmann served as the staff director of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere of the United States Congress. In addition, he served as a senior advisor to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Prior to serving in the Congress, Alan Fleischmann was the vice president of the trade finance company, LATCORP, Inc. (Latin American Trade Corporation), after working as senior associate of the Chase Manhattan Private Bank in New York and Argentina, where he was also a graduate of the Chase senior management training program. During the historic period of the fall of the Berlin Wall, Alan served as a policy aide in the German parliament, working with former German Chancellor Willy Brandt and his foundation, while receiving a Bundestag fellowship at the Friedrich Wilhelms Universität.

Alan Fleischmann received his M.A. with honors in International Economics from The Johns Hopkins University School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). He received a B.A. from the American University (AU), where Alan was valedictorian and student body president. Alan Fleischmann serves on the board of Johns Hopkins/SAIS and of AU’s School of International Service (SIS).

He also serves on several other foundation and university boards. Alan is a member of the board of the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Medical Center and a board director of the World Security Institute (WSI). He is a councilmember of the Brookings Institution and has been a guest lecturer at Institute of Politics of Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Alan Fleischmann is a lifetime member of the Council on Foreign Relations.
